Why do we have sheet music?
This term, we are exploring how to play ukuleles, building on and extending our knowledge of how to play different chords from Year 3. We will then be able to apply this knowledge by playing the accompaniment to well-known songs.
History
What enabled the Vikings to trade around the world?
Following on from our study of the Anglo-Saxons in term 1, we will be looking at historical evidence that shows the Vikings were skilled traders and that their explorations took them to many different locations around the world.
Art
Why is colour value important in painting?
The abstract work of Jackson Pollock and the Renaissance paintings of Leonardo da Vinci will provide the source of inspiration for our own paintings in these two, contrasting styles. We will be looking especially at how colour is used by both artists and seek to replicate this in our own work.
Computing
How do you create a program on Logo?
Using Turtle Academy online, we will be getting to grips with how to create algorithms on Logo. We will be coding to draw letters and shapes, culminating in a more complex coding sequence to create our own wallpaper design.
Science
Why are insulators as important as conductors?
Electricity is our focus in term 3. We will be looking to explore how circuits are constructed and developing our understanding of insulators and conductors.
