Fantastic Mr Fox

Fantastic Mr Fox is our class text this term. The children are thoroughly enjoying it and cannot wait to read a chapter every day.

A First Book of Nature

 

This is a non-fiction book that explores the wonders of nature. This text linked well to our science learning.

A Seed is Sleepy

This book is a celebration of the wonder and variety of seeds. The illustrations are beautiful and it links to our science learning on plants. After reading this book the children planted a variety of seeds and bulbs.

Hello Harvest Moon

 

 

Hello, Harvest Moon describes what happens to nature during the autumn evenings before winter sets in. It is a poetic book and links to our geography learning about Harvest.

 

"I love the pictures. They really describe what the fields look like at harvest time". Bonnie

Poetry Week

We are celebrating poetry week and will be writing our own poems in English. In guided reading we will be looking at this poem. The children will practise reading this poem in preparation for a performance at the end of the week.

Thankfulness Class have chosen 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl as their class text this term. The children are thoroughly enjoying the story so far and look forward to listening to it being read to them each day.
