Romans 15:7 - Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the Glory of God

Welcome to our class page!  What a pleasure it is to share the children's learning and experiences with you. .

All of us in the Year 4 team hope you have had an amazing summer holidays making memories together as families and we cannot wait to hear all about them. Here you will be able to see the amazing work that your children will produce and important information regarding PE days.

Reading books

On the first day back, your child will be given a reading book and a reading record. Please can we ask that these come into school every day so that we can listen to your child read in school. We encourage children to read to their parents or siblings at home and leave a comment in the reading log.

Homework and Spellings

Each week, your child will be given spellings to practice at home alongside a piece of Maths and English homework. Please can we ask that these are completed at home and are handed in every week so that we can provide feedback.

Alongside homework, we will be setting times table challenges on MathShed to help improve your child's fluency when answering times table questions.

PE Days

In term 1, we have 1 PE session. This will be taking place on a Friday afternoon with Mr Melson. This term the focus will be Fitness.

Please can we ask that the correct PE kit is to be in school ready for lessons at all times.

Swimming

Up until Christmas, we are lucky to start our Swimming lessons. These will happen on a Wednesday morning. Lessons are £2 each or you can pay £24 which will cover the whole unit of Swimming lessons.

We do ask that the children come into school wearing their swimming costumes underneath their school uniform as this allows us to enter the pool quicker when we arrive for our lessons. Here is a reminder of the appropriate swimwear.

Girls: A one piece swimsuit. Long hair must be tied back with a hair bobble.

Boys: Swimming trunks or above the knee swim shorts.

Goggles are allowed to be worn. Please ensure that these fit your child before sending them in.

Swim hats are allowed.

Please make sure that you send your child in with a towel, underwear and a bag big enough to hold school uniform. Unfortunately, showers will not be available after swimming lessons.

All we are waiting for is you to come and join in the fun! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact school where we will be happy to help you.

Follow our fun and learning on here and on our twitter pages too.
