PSHE - Online Safety Workshop
This week, we welcomed a visitor into school to discuss how to stay safe online and how we decide on whether to block it, report it or ignore it. We were given lots of scenarios to get us thinking and it made some of us change our minds on what we would do if we felt unsafe or unsure about something we seen online.
Science - Venn diagrams
This week, we continued our learning on classifying living things based on their diet. We retrieved how we knew whether a living thing was a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore by looking at their teeth before placing them on a Venn Diagram to sort. From this, we started to explore other ways we could classify living things and whether they would always be placed with the same living things or would they change depending on what they are being classified on.
Science - Living Things and Their Habitats
This week, we have started our Science unit looking at living things and how we can classify them. We retrieved knowledge from Year 2 on the different animal groups before really digging deeper into the classifications. We were surprised at some of the animals classification. For example, did you know that a whale is a mammal and not a fish? We do now!
English - Myths
This term in English, we are looking at writing to entertain, in which we have looked at Egyptian myths. We focused on the myth between Osiris and Seth. Here we are role playing the story to help us sequence the events before we look at rewriting the myth.
History Ancient Egyptians
This term, we have started our learning on the Ancient Egyptians. We started our unit by looking at other civilisations were around at the time of the Ancient Egyptians and the timeline of the Egyptians. We were surprised to see so many civilisations who were around at the same of Ancient Egyptians.
