Sports Captains

At St Thomas', we are proud of how active our children are and the resources that we have to offer to promote healthy and active lifestyles. We encourage children to take a leadership role in this area to continue to promote sport and being active throughout the day by being positive role models to other children and sharing our core values when competing in school competitions that have been organised by our Sport Captains.

Our Sport Captains are voted in by our children following a speech that explains what they want to achieve as a Sport Captain. They work closely with the Sports team in school to deliver lunchtime clubs and competitions, help organise Sports Day and become ambassadors for healthy and active lifestyles. Follow their journey on this webpage throughout the year as they continue to lead, change and inspire the children at St Thomas'.

Mutual Respect

The Sport Captains delivered two Collective Worships this week all about mutual respect. In Key Stage 1, we spoke about the importance of treating others fairly and being honest when playing games. In Key Stage 2, we discussed the importance of including everyone in our games,  o matter of the gender or religion. During the assemblies, we made sure we remained active by having a 5 minute workout to get our bodies moving in the sunshine.

Sport Captains 2021-2022

I am pleased to introduce the Sport Captains for 2021-2022. These Year 5 and 6 children have been voted by their peers to support all sport related activities. They will be working very closely with Mr Shortland in raising the profile of sport and PE in school.
