Term 6
Welcome back!
We cannot believe that it is the last term of year 2! We have a very busy term with lots of fun activities planned. We will also be beginning to prepare the children for their transition into year 3 and help them feel settled ready for their move into lower key stage 2. As well as this, the children will continue to learn about the impact of The Great Fire of London and begin learning about animals in their habitats. Our PE days will be on a Monday and a Tuesday.
With the weather improving and temperatures rising, please can all the children come to school with a sun hat and plenty to drink! Children can bring sun cream into school which they can apply themselves.
Music
In music this term , we are focussing on our performance skills. The children have been learning how to sing songs at the correct pitch and tempo.
Ice Skating!
The children had a fantastic trip ice skating. The children showed such resilience and never gave up when learning how to skate. They certainly demonstrated more skills than the adults!
Axles!
In Design Technology, the children used a range of resources to explore building axles and axle holders. The children then looked at different ways to make fixed axles and rotating axles. This is all in preparation for designing and making our own vehicle.
Habitats!
In science this week the children looked at different habitats. They then looked at different animals and sorted them into the habitat which they live in. The children then began to talk about about why they were suited tot heir habitats.
