Attendance Officers

After submitting an application form, the children were then interviewed for the role. They were asked why they wanted to be an attendance officer and they were keen to explain why.

'I want to check everyone is in school and safe.'

'I would like to know everyone is here on time so they do miss learning time.'

'It will motivate me to get up and ready for school each day.'

Each week, the children analyse data with Mrs Morris to work out which class is awarded the trophy and certificates. They then visit the class to celebrate and reward them. They will also be praising those that have made great improvements too.

Promoting positive attendance

The attendance team have prepared a Collective Worship ready to deliver to the school and then to parents about the importance of great attendance. They felt it was important to share learning time missed and what they equates too.

Discussion about informing parents about attendance

Mrs Morris and the attendance officer looked at how creating top tips for parents would be useful to parents. He wanted to ensure they understood how learning could be missed and that socialising with friends is equally as important.
