This term we continue with exploring life through the ages from Stone Age to Iron Age.

Forces and Magnets

 

Are all metals attracted to magnets?

 

This term we work as Physicists for the first time as we investigate the forces around us, including that of magnets.

RE- Islam

What does tawid mean to Muslims?

This term we build on our learning from Year 2 when we answered the key question, How do Muslims follow the straight path? 

Music- Performance

How can a performance make a difference to the audience?

This term we look forward to perfecting our performance skills as we present the Christingle service to you.

Mechanisms

Why is functionality important when making a product?

This term we explore books with moving pictures and look at how the  mechanisms were made. 

Geography

What made a successful settlement?

As we work as Geographers, we will identify different types of settlement and what is needed to make a successful settlement.

Yoga

How does your body feel when you control your breathing?

This term we focus on our bodies and the control we have over them as we really reflect and think about our breathing.

Basketball

Will your performance improve with a positive attitude?

French

 

Puis-je me présenter?

 This term we learn how to introduce ourselves in French and talk about how we are feeling.

Today we practised having conversations about how we feel.

PSHE

Does respect always look the same?

This term we explore what respect means and how it might look in different situations. We also spend time exploring respect through our safety weeks. Anti-bullying and Road Safety Weeks are an important part of this term.

 

Maths

Addition and Subtraction

Understanding the key skills of addition and subtraction, we consolidate the column method and the exchanges needed. Using manipulatives we have rehearsed making the exchanges of ten ones for a ten or ten tens for a hundred.

 

English

Writing to Entertain

Writing short stories, we will explore different ways we can use vocabulary to entertain our readers.

Road Safety Week

This week, we have been lucky to have been visited by Phil - a lorry driver - during Road Safety Week. Phil spoke to us about how to stay safe around lorries on the road, and told us what some of the signs meant on his lorry. After his talk, we even got a chance to have a look around different parts of his lorry - it was very exciting!
