Term 5

On the Farm

As we move into our Summer term, we begin to look at the exciting world of farming! The children will be learning about where food comes from, what farming is and how to stay happy and healthy, making good lifestyle choices. Children will also be looking at different animals, which they may find on a farm and how they are part of the farming world. In Maths this term, the children will be using all of the knowledge they have gained so far on numbers from 0-10 to now move beyond 10! An exciting term ahead!

Exploring numbers beyond 10

This week the children have started to explore numbers beyond 10. The children have enjoyed using numicon pieces to identify the different ways to make numbers to 20.

Working as musicians

This term the children have been working as musicians. They have been learning how to play the boom whackers, how to follow a beat and rhythm and use code to read and play a piece of music. The children have enjoyed playing these percussion instruments and worked in groups to play nursery rhymes. Take a look at some of our performances.

Creating London Landmarks

The children have enjoyed creating London landmarks during provision time this term. They have worked brilliantly as a team, listening to each other's ideas and using construction materials to create structures similar to the buildings you may find in the city of London. This has linked in with their learning about King Charles III. The children have also used peg boards to create the Union Jack flag.

Tangrams

In Maths this week, the children have continued their learning on shape and explored tangrams. The children have worked to create different pictures using a set number of 2D shapes and explored rotating different shapes. Take a look at some of our creations. Well done Love Class!

Healthy and Unhealthy

We have been exploring how to be happy and healthy this term. We have looked at how to keep ourselves healthy by what we eat, how we care for our bodies and our minds, and how to make good lifestyle choices.

We are extremely proud of the children this week, and their fantastic contributions to the discussions we have had during carpet time. Well done Love Class.
