Welcome to the final summer term! A term that will see the continuation of hard work, lots of learning and a great amount of fun. All of the subjects will see new units of work being taught, building upon previous work and expanding their knowledge. In English, we will be writing to entertain through a twisted traditional tale. We will look to apply all of our English skills from Year 2 and 3 through the use of expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, conjunctions and punctuation. In Maths, we continue to build our understanding of time, shape and fractions but not forgetting to recap the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
In History, we will continue with learning about the Romans and their empire. In RE, we explore and reflect upon the celebrations in that different religions participate in, while in Art we will refine our drawing skills. In PE, we will be learning new skills for the sport of cricket as the weather gets warmer too. Also, not forgetting our sports trip which will soon be here!
In French, we are building on all the knowledge learnt in Year 3 and trying to master our skills through speaking, reading and writing French. In DT, we will be creating an authentic healthy product to eat working alongside the community. Finally in PSHE, we will be thinking about laws and human rights before moving into online safety. It looks incredibly busy but brilliant!
We cannot wait to see the children busy in action and doing what they do best! Feel free to come and chat to the Year 3 team anytime.
This term's reading book is 'Kai and the Monkey King'.
