6S Peace Class
Welcome back and what a pleasure it is to see the children again and their eagerness to learn. It will most certainly help prepare them in their next stage of learning. Although, outside of school there may seem much uncertainty, inside, the children will be embracing the positivity, kindness and learning that sets our school apart.
A new term signals new opportunities for us to encourage one another throughout the different aspects of the school day so that each member of Peace Class is ready to learn and prepared to flourish.
We hope you enjoy the term alongside us and that you enjoy seeing how the children grow and flourish as they encourage one another.

Homework and Spellings
On a Friday, spellings shall be sent home. Homework this term is a project expected to be returned on Wednesday 15th July. Children are welcome, however, to bring in a piece of their project each week if this supports them in keeping on track. Homework club will also be open on Monday Lunchtimes to support children who are unable to complete homework at home. Spellings shall be tested on the following Friday.
We appreciate and understand that many Year 6 pupils read independently; however, reading diaries will be collected every Friday with the expectation that children will have read at least three times. We ask that this is kindly signed by an adult in preparation for when they need to have their planners signed in Secondary School.
PE
During Term 6, PE shall take place on a Monday. PE Kit will therefore need to be present in school on this day. As the weather improves, the children may benefit from bringing a sun hat and sun cream too.
Each Wednesday, we shall be visiting the swimming pool in order to ensure that all of Year 6 are able to swim 25m before they move on to Secondary School; therefore, it is essential that children be prepared to swim by attending school with their swimwear beneath their uniform so that they are able to spend the most time in the pool that is available to us.
