Term 5

Welcome back to Term 5

Hoping everyone had a lovely Easter break!

This term we are going to be writing to entertain, thinking about what we would like to be when we are older! We have some working professionals coming in to talk to us about their job roles. In Maths will be focussing on multiplication and division, in Art we will be painting using different colours and shades. We will be learning all about common plants in Science and we look forward to sharing lots of information to parents during our class assembly. So much learning to fit in and hopefully some sunny weather involved too!
Keep a look out for lots of photos of our learning…

Take a look at our new reading area! The children have loved using this area to spend some quiet time sharing books with their friends. In Art this week we have been learning that a painting is an expression of ideas and emotions. We explored the artworks: Water-lily pond by Claude Monet, Bouquet by Henri Matisse, Petunia No.2 by Georgia O’Keeffe and explored the ideas and emotions in the painting.

In Maths this week we have been learning how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s, the children have been using lots of different manipulatives to help them with this counting.

We have started to learn how to log on the laptops and explore the painting tools! In Science this week we have been outside identifying different flowers and then learning all about how to plant different seeds. The children have all designed their own cress heads so watch this space and see how quickly they grow! We are also having a competition with Miss Lenton's class to see who can grow the tallest sunflower.
