Term 2
Welcome back to Term 2!
Welcome back to Autumn Term 2. I hope you have had a wonderful half term break, and are refreshed ready for an action packed term.
I am really pleased with how the children in Humility class have returned to school. They are eager and excited for their learning this term.
Check out our amazing learning below.
Maths
This week we have been exploring the method of Long Division. We have been working hard to find the multiples of our divisor, before completing the rest of the method.
Music
Can music help us to process life’s big emotions?
This term we are leading a thanksgiving service at the Stump to mark Armistice day as well as holding a remembrance service for the school during Collective Worship. Therefore, we are using our Music unit to sing in harmony, holding our part within an increasingly complicated ensemble, to explore how music can be a tool for healing.
French
Qu’est ce que tu portes aujord’hui?
Within our French unit, we are learning the vocabulary for items of clothes as well as expressing some of our opinions on them!
To begin our new unit, we explored our new vocabulary about items of clothing, with a game of Bingo. We all thoroughly enjoyed playing the game and can now recognise items of clothing in French.

Speaking and Listening
This week we explored how to use our newly learnt vocabulary and talk with our learning partners about what clothes each character was wearing. Well done, Humility Class!

History
How does war force civilisations to develop?
Through the power of story, we are working as Historians this term. We are exploring the role of people from Boston in The Great War through the artefact boxes given to us by the Parish of Boston. We have been to the Stump to showcase our learning to our family and the community. We have also taken place in a murder mystery to solve who was responsible for the outbreak of World War One.
To begin our new unit on World War One, we worked as historians to explore the outbreak of war. We explored a range of sources and asked many questions to deduce what happened.

Religious Education (RE)
What does it mean if God is holy and loving?
Within our lessons, we are studying the unit of Understanding Christianity: God. We shall be exploring what the key words omniscient, omnipresent and eternal mean and how different Christian denominations worship God.
We worked as Theologians to explore what Christians believe about God, using the Bible to support our findings.

Today we used biblical examples to explore what Christians believe about God. We had some fabulous discussions working as Theologists.
In today’s lesson we explored Christian worship. There are approximately 2.382 billion Christians across the world. We examined two families, both living in Lincolnshire, and how they worship God.
One family attends a Baptist Church and the other attends an Anglican Church.

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE)
How do I know if a relationship is healthy?
The unit we are studying this term will further support us to develop a clear understanding of what a healthy relationship looks like. Last term, we discussed and explored healthy, romantic relationships; this term, we will focus on peer relationships.
This week we focussed on the term Respect. We had fantastic discussions about what it means and how we would see respect being demonstrated in all areas of our day.

Does a heart’s rate always stay the same?
Our knowledge of animals, including humans, will deepen this term as we learn about the circulatory system within our Science unit this term.
