English

Our focus text this week is The Three Little Pigs. Today we explored the materials the pigs used to build their houses and used vocabulary to describe them. We thought the straw was yellow, bendy and light. The sticks were bumpy, long and strong. The bricks were solid, rough and hard.

We then continued to retell the story and draw our own story map before finally writing our own stories.

Today we were predicting what out new text could be. We found clues in the bag that related to our new story. We predicted correctly that our new text is The Little Red Hen.

Have a look at our fantastic retellings of The Little Red Hen. We have been learning to use capital letters and full stops.

Aliens Love Underpants! We have really enjoyed reading our new text. Today we explored character's feelings and developed our vocabulary to describe this. We made freeze frames to show how the characters were feeling.

This week we have been looking at one more and one less. The children have been using cubes and counters to help them.

We have been learning to count backwards! We challenged our partners to start from a given number and continue counting backwards. The numbers were getting one less each time.

We have been ordering numbers. We having been ordering numbers smallest to greatest and greatest to smallest. We have been fantastic at using this vocabulary.
