World Book Day 2026
Fri 06 Mar 2026World Book Day 2026
It's hard to tell who enjoyed dressing up more: the teachers or the students!
Everyone at St Thomas' CE Primary Academy had a fantastic day for World Book Day where they dressed as their favourite book characters, or in the clothes they love to wear whilst reading.
They had so much fun spending the whole day dedicated to stories, reading, and all of our favourite book characters. In the afternoon, the sun came out and our Year 5 pupils had the opportunity to read stories to the children in Reception. It was so lovely to see our older students sharing their knowledge and skills with the younger pupils.
What a brilliant day!

Mother's Day Event 2026
Fri 13 Feb 2026St Thomas' staff would like to invite parents and carers to a special treat to enjoy with your child to celebrate Mothering Sunday. As part of the experience, you will enjoy a breakfast bap whilst spending quality time together with your child/children. During this event, you will take part in a range of activities including art, reading, exercise and reflection.
Mothering Sunday is a key date in the church calendar which honours the mother church, the church where one is baptised. This is a tradition celebrated since the Middle Ages on the 4th Sunday in Lent when Christians would visit their mother church.
If you would like to join us, please complete the survey on Parenthub.

STEM Day at Boston High School
Thu 22 Jan 2026On Tuesday a few of our year 5 pupils were selected to take part in a STEM Day at Boston High School.
They were given an opportunity to work in groups alongside other schools from the local area to take part in activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths.
Their first task was to design and create a parachute to protect an egg when it was dropped. Our pupils had to choose their own materials and complete the maths to try and make sure that their egg didn't smash.
Another of their challenges was to keep a piece of chocolate cool and protect it from melting when placed into an oven. The students had to use their science skills to choose which materials they believed would be the best at protecting their chocolate.
The final task was to create a bob sleigh with given materials and to see how far it would travel and how fast. They had to work out all of the equations involved including travel, speed, and distance.
At the end of the day, all of our students were awarded with medals.
It was a very enjoyable day for all involved. A massive thank you to Boston High School for inviting us. -
