Eid

Through a class collective worship, children explored the significance of Eid, helping to deepen their understanding of diverse faiths and cultural practices represented within their school and local community.
By watching BBC Newsround and Bitesize videos, pupils were introduced to authentic perspectives on how Eid is celebrated in the UK, linking their learning to real-life experiences and promoting empathy. This contributed to broadening pupils’ worldviews, challenging stereotypes, and supporting positive attitudes towards diversity.
The activity encouraged pupils to reflect on shared values such as kindness, gratitude, and community, which are central to Eid celebrations and resonate with wider British values. Creating and sending Eid cards to families within the school community, including those with Muslim heritage, aimed to promote a sense of belonging, respect, and connection across different cultural and religious groups.
