Geography
Why would you visit Europe?
This term, we will be looking at the physical and human features of the continent of Europe, seeking to answer the big question about why people would want to visit this part of the world. We will be developing our map skills and will think about the similarities and differences between various locations.
French
Quel temps fait il?
Our focus in French will be on learning about the weather. We will build our knowledge of vocabulary needed to describe different weather patterns and learn how to respond in French to our key question.
Music
Can voices create more emotion through harmonies?
In Year 4, we have responsibility for leading the Easter service, a special time of year in the Christian calendar. We will be preparing to sing the different songs and learning about impact of harmony in a musical performance.

How does the creation story inform the lives and actions of Christians?
We are going to be looking carefully at the Biblical account of the beginning of the world. From this, we will be thinking about how this knowledge can shape our sense of responsibility towards the world.

Why is the testing of a product important?
Following on from science last term, we will be using our understanding of electricity to design and make a simple torch. This will mean applying our knowledge of how to make a complete circuit and how to use a switch to control its function.
Science
How important are teeth to digestion?
We will be thinking as biologists this term as we study the digestive system. This will extend to other animals, leading to an appreciation of the way food chains function within nature.

Why is communication important in a routine?
If you win as a team, does that mean you lose individually?
We will be working on map-reading skills in orienteering and on developing routines with balances in gymnastics. Both will involve the opportunity to improve team-player and communication skills as we learn how to complete different tasks.
