Term 5

On the farm

As we move into our Summer term we begin to look at the exciting world of farming! The children will be learning about where food comes from, what farming is and how to stay happy and healthy, making good life style choices. Children will also be looking at different animals which they may find on a farm and how they are part of the farming world. In Maths this term the children will be using all of the knowledge they have gained so far on numbers from 0-10 to now move beyond 10! An exciting term ahead!

This week the children have started exploring numbers to 20. The children used counters to create different numbers and could recognise that each number included tens and ones. During choosing time, the class used number shapes to make different numbers and used the correct vocabulary. Well done Love Class.

The children were very excited on Monday to use the boom whackers as part of their music lessons. They all explored the different sounds they made and could recognise that the longer boom whackers made a low sound and the shorter boom whackers made a high sound. This week the children will be following music to play a nursery rhyme in groups.

Reception's visit to Tattershall Farm Park

The children had a brilliant time visiting Tattershall Farm Park this week. They all had the opportunity to learn about the different animals including horses, goats, reptiles and birds. The children were able to feed the animals, walk goats and observe a bird show.
