    PSHE - Analysing medication packets

In PSHE, we have been analysing medicine packets so that we can understand the information that is on the packet. We spoke about the rules we must remember when we take medication.

    PE - Tennis

This week in PE, we worked hard on using the backhand shot. We spoke about keeping the racket facing our opponent and following through after we have hit the shot. This lesson showed resilience and determination.

    RE - Creation

In RE, we continued on our work on Creation by looking at text from the Bible. We read the story of Creation and every time the word good was used. We highlighted every time the word was used and what was being described.

    World Book Day

We loved celebrating World Book Day this year. We came dressed up as characters from books and shared reading whenever we can. We watched an online lesson which authors shared their inspiration of how they wrote their books.

    Library

We were really lucky to have time in our newly designed library as part of World Book Day. We shared a story together before we looked around the library at the amazing books we have on offer! We can’t wait to visit there again!

    DT - Analysing Lights

In DT, we focused on looking at different lights and discussed the features and what made them unique. We spoke about how they fit a purpose and how they would appeal to their inter target market. We enjoyed analysing the individual lights.

Science - Understanding the roles of teeth

Today in Science, we had so much fun in investigating the roles of our teeth. We discovered there are 4 different types of teeth. These are incisors, canines, molars and pre molars. We also discussed the function of the wisdom teeth and how they have no necessary function. We bit into apples and watched ourselves eating the apples in the mirror so we could identify the roles our teeth played.

Last term, we set the children the task of researching a European country as a homework project. We have been blown away with the work and effort that has come back into school. Mr Shortland has been very lucky to sample many delicious dishes from various European countries. Here you will find the feedback from those dishes.

    RE - Creation

This term in RE, we are focusing on Creation. Today, we took advantage of the beautiful day and went outside into our reflective area to see whether we could see any evidence of creation happening. We took a paint swatch to see if we could find items of creation that matched the couloir swatch we had. During this time, we closed our eyes and listened to the sounds around us. When we came into the classroom, we listened to Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a wonderful world,’ as we drew in our books what is wonderful in the world.

    PE - Tennis

This term, we are focusing on tennis in one of our PE units. This week, the focus was on using and developing the forehand shot by ensuring we hit the ball when the racket is facing our partner and making sure that the racket starts low with one hand and finishes high over our shoulder with two hands. We enjoyed moving this on to hitting the ball over a longer distance.

    Computing - Coding

This term, we are focusing on Coding in Computing which sees us writing algorithms to reach a specific goal. In our 1st lesson, we were experimenting how to control the turtle with commands and how we can shorten the code to be more efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
