Term 4

Term 4
'Round and round we go'

We welcome you back to another term! We will begin to explore different types of vehicles, from the past and the present. The children will look forward to a visit to a Chinese restaurant in celebration of 'Chinese New Year' and have plenty of opportunities for identifying signs of spring. With world book day ahead of us, we will continue to enjoy some new stories including ‘Mr wolfs pancakes’ and some non-fiction texts all about transport. In maths we begin to build the numbers 9 and 10, not forgetting 3D shapes to learn all about! Our children will continue to engage in independent learning opportunities within out indoor and outdoor learning areas.

Mr Wolf’s Pancakes

Mr Wolf's Pancakes

This week we have read the story 'Mr Wolf's pancakes'. The children have been busy making pretend pancakes, counting the toppings on pancakes, decorating pancakes and writing some instructions down. Once we had all decorated our pancakes, we sat down together and enjoyed eating them!

Spring!

The children noticed whilst being outside this week how the weather is beginning to change. They went searching for some signs of spring and identified that some flowers are beginning to grow. The children enjoyed painting pictures of daffodils using the water colours once back inside.

Visit to a restaurant

The children have been learning about Chinese New Year. We went to a local Chinese restaurant to try and taste some Chinese food. The Children were able to talk about some Chinese New Year facts, such as red being a lucky colour and 2026 being the year of the horse.
