The Three Little Pigs
This week we have loved learning the story of the Three Little pigs. We have generated exciting vocabulary to describe the pigs houses and even acted out the story with our friends.

The Little Red Hen
Today we predicted what our next text was going to be. We looked at picture clues to try to guess. It is The Little Red Hen!
We had fun retelling parts of the story and acting these out. We have been practising telling the story using our familiar story phrases.
Maths
Number: place value
This week in Maths, we have begun to understand the value of numbers within 10. We have then taken our knowledge further by putting the value into a tens frame.

We have been deepening our number knowledge by practising counting from any number. We were able to find one more and know what came next in the sequence.

Science
How can I identify a variety of materials based on their properties?
Which materials can be recycled?
We have been exploring the school environment looking for objects and identifying their materials. We found objects made from wood, glass, fabric and plastic.

This week we have been sorting materials based on their properties. We then used adventurous vocabulary that matched the material.

Art
What is form?
We have been exploring Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons. We looked at the shapes used and replicated these in our sketch books. We then used water colours to paint them.

Today we looked at the sculpture Brazillian Fish by Alexander Calder. We then had a go at sketching this in our sketchbook and then we replicated the scales by decorating with collage materials.

PSHE
Are all families the same?
In PSHE, we have been looking at our families and what makes them special. We have discussed who keeps us safe, and the adults in our community who protect us.

Why do we need rules?
This term has all been about online safety. We have discussed good and bad choice and who we would tell if we felt uncomfortable online.

History
How have toys changed over time?
The Gentleness Class have worked very hard on their History writing. After exploring the difference between old and new toys, we then wrote simple sentences explaining the difference.

Music
Does pitch and tempo matter?
We have been learning about pitch and tempo and recognising this in instruments and different pieces of music. We have really enjoyed appraising different songs and artists.
We have been exploring different instruments and playing them using different tempos. We worked fantastically as a team!
