Local Connections

We love to share our love of reading with other schools in our Trust family. Recently, our librarians shared their love of reading in a meeting with Little Gonerby Primary Academy. We shared our favourite books from each year group and their Year 5 pupils shared some of their current favourites with us. As their school expands and welcomes their first Year 6 cohort, we collated our favourite year 6 reads to send over to them.

We shared our SPARKS! book voting with them too and explained how successful it had been to get the whole school talking about the same books. 

International Connections

Our first link was with Poland. You can see more about this on our International Links Page. We sent to Poland a scrap book showcasing our favourite reads for each year group; it was shared with them by the staff and pupils who were lucky enough to go on the trip.

Abu Dhabi

We have shared our favourite reads with pupils in Abu Dhabi, focusing on our Year 6 pupils sharing their thoughts and pupils there sending us their recommendations too.

Kuwait

Links to a school in Kuwait have allowed the teacher there to share a reading of some of her pupils' favourite books virtually with our KS1 pupils (although some of us in KS2 have had a nosey too!). We have shared some of our favourite books for her to share with her pupils too.
