Term 5

Welcome back to Term 5

Hoping everyone had a lovely Easter break!

This term we are going to begin by reading the text 'The Magic Porridge Pot'. In Maths will be focussing on multiplication and division, in Art we will be painting using different colours and shades. We will be learning all about common plants in Science and we look forward to sharing lots of information to parents during our class assembly. So much learning to fit in and hopefully some sunny weather involved too!
Keep a look out for lots of photos of our learning.

Willoughby Farm Trip

What an amazing experience the children all had going to visit a real working farm. Not only did they get to stroke a baby calf and sit on a tractor they also learnt lots of new facts all about farming today which links to our History learning from last term - what an amazing retrieval opportunity for them all. A big thank you to the staff at Willoughby Farm and the parent helpers.

Science - Are all plants and trees the same?

Geography - What is the United Kingdom?

In Science and Geography this week we have been outside identifying different flowers and then learning all about how to plant different seeds. We have also been talking about spring and how this looks different to the other seasons.

Art - How do paintings express mood?

In Art this week we have been learning that a painting is an expression of ideas and emotions. We explored the artworks: Water-lily pond by Claude Monet, Bouquet by Henri Matisse, Petunia No.2 by Georgia O’Keeffe and explored the ideas and emotions in the painting.

Computing - How can computers help us draw?

We have started to learn how to log on the laptops and explore the painting tools!

In Maths this week we have been learning how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s, the children have been using lots of different manipulatives to help them with this counting.

PE- How can you improve your co-ordination?

How is challenging yourself going to improve you?
