Week beginning 7th December

We are recapping how to use the bus stop method for division. We will be using practical resources such as numicon and counters. Remember to think about using your times tables.

In English this week we are drafting more of our narrative! Having written the opening, we are moving on to draft the next section which will be filled with tension, reflecting our learning about how authors create this in their writing. A toolkit is attached, this has a version with clues and an empty table, you can choose which is appropriate for you.

In Science we will be investigating the effects of friction. Perhaps you could devise an investigation to see compare how friction affects different shoes moving on the floor? use the power point to help you understand the force of friction first.

As we continue through Advent, we are  thinking about the Christingle Service here at school on Thursday. Can you make your own Christingle at home? Can you find out what the different parts are symbolising and representing. Create your own information leaflet or poster about it.

Can you remember what a secret is? have you ever been in a situation where you know the secret needed to be shared? How did you feel at the time? Who could you tell? Can you design a leaflet to help other children understand about this.
