Welcome to what we hope is the last week of home learning for some time!
This week we get the opportunity to reflect on our joy of reading with World Book Day on Thursday and other author experiences throughout the week.
We continue to learn more about European countries in both Geography and English; writing non-chronological reports and researching more about Poland, Lithuania and Latvia and their human and physical features. In Science we will find out more about teeth by investigating dental decay. Your work on fractions last week in Maths was fantastic and I look forward to us working more with fractions and continuing to use Maths Shed to challenge ourselves. Please do continue to share your learning with us, we love to see what you have been up to!
Please find below your learning for the week- use the timetable if you wish to follow the same learning as the children who are in school.
Where you see the word video in blue, click on it and it will take you directly to the correct video to support your learning.
Remember to ask about anything you are unsure of and book in with Mrs Favell or myself for a video chat where we can help you with any learning. Keep up the good work!
Overarching Question Term 4
Last week you may have defined what fate and choice are.
'Is it fate or choice that allows us to spread our wings?'
This week I want you to think about what spreading your wings might entail for you. What kinds of things do you hope to achieve in the future that will need you to be courageous and confident and ‘spread your wings’ and try new things? Make a list of some of them for you to reflect upon over the coming weeks.
Please share your ideas with us at
World Book Day
On Thursday 4th March, it is World Book Day. We hope you will join us by dressing in your pyjamas and spending a day immersed in literature.
For our English lesson on Thursday, we will be exploring Chapter One of The Midnight Gang. Complete the prediction questions before reading the chapter and then complete the other activities. Please find them below.
In the afternoon, in school, we will be completing the creative activity, making a 'book nook' or diorama of a favourite book or story setting. We hope you will join in with these from home too!
This week in English you will be planning and researching to write your own non-chronological report about a European City of your choice. We can't wait to find out where you choose!
This week in reading you will be using your CGP book to read two of Aesop's Fables. Read them through and answer the VIPERS questions below before answering the questions in the CGP book.
There are also two 60 second reads for you to complete about Sport.
