Video for our non-core learning this week.

This week for our Big Write lesson, we are going to write to entertain. Before you watch the Big Write Video, please make sure you watch the following video clip as this will be our stimulus for our writing. You may even wish to make yourself a hot chocolate to help with your description. After you have watched the video clip, please then watch the Big Write Video on our Video Resource Centre.
Before watching the video on the resource centre, please ask the children to answer question one of the comprehension task. This will involve them making a prediction about the story.
For this activity, draw the different characters from the story and brainstorm adjectives that describe their appearance but also their personality and character.
Read the text 'Penguin's Holiday' and complete the daily challenges. It will be useful to read the text every day before completing the activity, this will develop your fluency when reading. You can write the answers in your English exercise book.
Look at the safety scenarios first. Read each one with a grown and talk about what you would do in each scenario. After this, look at the safety quiz and sort the statements into true and false.
