We have continued our scientific learning this week, with an investigation into materials that conduct electricity and those that insulate. A great side effect of the song we have learned is that is has helped us all remember the vocabulary and meanings associated with electricity.
First, after considering the materials to be tested, we predicted whether they would conduct (allow electricity to pass through) or insulate (block it). Then we set about testing them. The children had to work out how to use the circuits to test the materials and all could discuss how they knew whether or not electricity was passing through.
