These knowledge organisers are useful sheets which contain vocabulary and information about the different areas of study this term. To be of most use, adults and children please discuss the facts and words within these, to help with recall and understanding.

Young Leaders Award

On Monday, the children were introduced to Archie, the character involved in leading the Young Leaders Award. One of the themes of this award is thinking about other people and how everyone can make a difference in their community. The challenges may have to be adapted to suit the rules that we currently are living with - for example, one of the challenges is to invite a neighbour for tea. As different households are not allowed to meet at the moment, an alternative might be to bake cakes and take them to your neighbour (leave them on the doorstep with a note or talk through a window), or make them a card and post it through their door. This will help children to think about others and "be the change we want to see", which is the aim of the award. Knowing that some people will be feeling isolated, they can do small things to make a difference.

The personal challenge grid is above. We would like to encourage the children to do at least one of these challenges each week.
