English - Genres of writing

The children explored and discussed the features of a variety of genres. They used a success criteria to try and match the genres to the correct examples. This provoked excellent discussion and demonstrated key knowledge.

 

  

English - using standard English

After comparing and practising using standard English, the children played a talking game of talk for a minute where they chose a topic and spoke about it using technical vocabulary. They made notes to support them. We were very impressed with them all. 

 

  

Maths - Place Value

One group of learners, popped outside to identify the values of numbers. They had to explain the value of the digit and how many i.e. tens was in the number. The other children were using counters and discussing how they knew the value up to 1,000,000.

 

 

 

 

PE - Football

In PE, the children showed accurate passing over different distances, dribbling and close control all aspects of attacking within football. They used different parts of the foot to control the ball, using the inside of the foot for accurate short passing and trying to travel using close control whilst dribbling the ball.
